Twenty-four days of the Omer 5777

Today is twenty-four days, which is three weeks and threedays, of the Omer. Tiferet of Netzach, Beautiful Truth of Eternity / Endurance.

It isoften hard for people to admit the truth they are trying to convey. They hidetheir intentions, seeking out your truth before deciding whether to share theirideas. This can make it quite difficult to know how to answer the secretiveperson's questions.

When youvalue truth through eternity, you may look back on conversations and wonder ifsomeone took advantage of you. It's possible that will happen. Until we allhave the strength to be forthright, while knowing the appropriate limits -based on age, level of intimacy, or sundry other context clues - we must havethe strength to endure the consequences of living amongst people afraid ofspeaking honestly.

I am reminded of Allison Sagadencky's drash "have the foresight to be forthright and the insight to be polite."
